חָצַב

חָצַב(b. h.; cmp. חטב) to cut, chisel, hew, shape. Tosef. Yoma I, 6 כשהוא חוֹצֵב engaged in stone-breaking; Sifra Emor ch. I, Par. 2; Tanḥ. Emor 4 ח׳ אבנים; Lev. R. s. 26 ח׳ באבנים. Y.M. Kat.
